Before your first acupuncture session there are several things you should bear in mind:

* Most commonly used acupuncture points are located on the limbs and the trunk, therefore, it would
be helpful to wear clothing that allows easy access to these areas.

* Do NOT go for treatment on an empty stomach or straight after a heavy meal or after partaking in
alcohol.

* If you are uncomfortable at any stage of your treatment please do not hesitate to inform me.

Initial Consultation
Initial consultation and treatment takes 1.5 hours. this involves taking a case history, which includes present and past health problems as well as diet, lifestyle, sleep patterns and emotional wellbeing.

Results of scans, blood tests and any surgery will be required.

If you are prescribe medication from your General Practitioner please ensure you bring a list of that medication to your consultation.
Pulse and tongue diagnosis will form part of the diagnosis.

Treatment plan and treatment
Based on the information given, a diagnosis will be made and a treatment plan formulated, which may include lifestyle and dietary advice in addition to acupuncture.
Chinese Herbal Medicine may be recommended to supplement the treatment.
